I truly think we all need to find more time to be
with and enjoy our families. Scrapbooking can bring a
family together and can also find and preserve your
family heritage.
You can preserve your families photo heritage for
many generations to cherish and enjoy. Preserve your
photo archives. Create your own family cropping station,
with a little organization and planning you can have an
area where your family can spend time together being
creative with family photos. The more organized you are
the less time it will take to create some fantastic
memory albums. When you file your photos in order of
what you want to scrapbook first, one thing I like to do
is write some notes on a recipe card of the event. They
are the perfect size to file in a photo box with your
photos and they help you remember the important
information for journalizing later. But most of all have
an important family hobby that you can do together.
Scrapbooking is a great way to preserve your family
heritage, have something you've done as a family and
something for your great grandchildren to cherish. Many
generations will love and cherish later what you've
preserved today.
Scrapbooking is a safe way to preserve your photos,
old and new. To make sure your photos are going to be
safe always look for the word's acid free and lignin
free on your supplies. Things that are not acid and
lignin free keep away from your photos. For example
every once in awhile I will use old Christmas cards,
there are so many cute ones that we hate to throw away.
So I use them on a page but keep them away from the
photo itself.
Doing a Memory Album can heal our broken hearts that
hurt for our loved ones that have passed. To loose a
child or a parent can sometimes be more hurt then we can
bare. But to do and have a Memory Album of that person
will heal you and will keep their spirit with you. I
knew of a mother who was dying of cancer and before she
left this world she did a scrapbook album for each one
of her children, with pictures of them with their
mother. I can only imagine how they treasure those
albums today.
I have lost my mother and a child and I know those
albums are all I have left of both of them, but what a
treasure.
We all have plenty of photos to scrapbook, our
weddings, birthdays, baby books, children's photos,
pets, special friends and special occasions are just a
few of the memories we'd like to cherish forever.
One of the most important things for me to scrapbook
are not even photos at all, they are those great report
cards, those special little notes from our children,
letters to Santa, lost teeth. Everything that we
cherish, what is and was a special part and time in our
lives. Save these moments, I guarantee you won't regret
it and your family will treasure it.
When you are just getting started in scrapbooking try
to remember not to go over board, there are so many
products available, and so many materials to use. Think
before you shop! Think about what pictures you are going
to scrapbook this time try and keep focused on one or
two projects. Organize your photos and scrapbook the
latest photos you have, as you go you can do some photos
from past occasions. If you try and think of all your
old pictures it will become to over whelming for you.
Make this fun, not something else to stress about. Enjoy
scrapbooking and let the creativity come to you.
I do a lot of Guest Books for weddings; this is one
of my favorite things to do. I'm given photos from their
engagement pictures and I then do pages for the guest to
sign when they come to a wedding reception. Sometimes we
have headers on the page such as “Advice for Forgotten
Dates” or “Advice for dealing with the In-laws” just
little titles for suggestions on what a friend could
suggest to the new bride & groom.
Forever & Again have a lot of Free page layout ideas
for you. We are here to help you in all your
scrapbooking needs.
